This set of glass-head pins in a wooden box is the ultimate combination of functionality and elegance. The cherry-wood box (measuring 5.3cm length x 3.8cm width x 1.8cm height) was handcrafted by Daiwa Sangyo, a manufacturer that originally produced wooden medicines boxes, that has now adapted its techniques to offer more modern products. A button made from the shell of the pearl oyster decorates the clasp. This flower-shaped button is crafted by the company Tomoi, which has produced shell buttons since 1913. The sewing pins are made from nickel-plated steel in Hiroshima, they are strong but flexible and pierce cloth easily. They are 35mm long and 0.5mm thick. The glass heads have a diameter of 2mm. The set contains 30 glass-head pins in two different colour-coordinated shades: 15 x translucent and 15 x opaque. Available in 5 colours that reflect the different seasons according to Japanese tradition.
